Earth: A Wonderfully Weird World

The world is an amazing place, full of wonder, mystery and awe-inspiring places and natural phenomenon. It’s time once again to share some of the incredible things which only Mother Nature can create. If you have been looking for something different to experience or searching for travel inspiration, perhaps one of the following Natural Experiences will become your next travel destination.

When it comes to extremes, natural features across the landscape have made a lasting impact upon our world. Visiting any these unforgettable natural wonders would give a traveler an experience like no other. CLICK HERE to check out 9 incredible natural wonders from around the world, as posted by Conde Naste Traveler.

Australia is a land full of wonder and oddities in nature; these oddities are a big part of what makes the Land Down Under so incredibly special. Koalas, Kangaroos and Platypus get plenty of attention, but there are many more uniquely Australian animals
worth seeing if you can when you travel there. The Lyre bird is something not to be missed, for it is truly one of a kind in avian life. CLICK HERE to see amazing video footage of a Lyre Bird.

If you want to see a grand spectacle of nature, which nothing, and I do mean nothing, can seem to stop, you will want to plan a journey to a little island in the Indian Ocean, to Christmas Island, Australia. With over 14 species of crabs, this
small island has a big reputation for being home to one of the most spectacular natural wonders ever witnessed, the annual mass migration of the Red Crab.

Over 100,000 million of these bright red crabs migrate in each year in November, at the beginning of the wet season; from the mountainous forest, down to the sea. En masse, spawning occurs to start a new generation. Those that survive the trek down, make it back up again in the tropical forest where they live. When the babies are born, they too make this incredible journey. CLICK HERE to see this wonder of nature yourself.

Adventure Awaits on the Caravan to Ashland

Our newest Classy Ladies Getaway (& Couples Too!) vacation is a great opportunity to get away for some summer fun right here in the Northwest. If you are looking for a bit of adventure but don’t want to have worry about the details, this Northwest excursion could be the perfect choice. This has become one of Cindy’s most loved trips, and now you can join her and her husband Tony, alongside other travelers for a caravan to Ashland Adventure in two parts.

Cindy is passionate about the Arts, especially theater. On any given weekend (when she is in town!) she can be found at a live performance of some kind. From Portland Center Stage productions, to the Portland Columbia Symphony season, and special occasions such as the latest Cirque de Soleil extravaganza, you can find Cindy there. So, it should come as no surprise to find that Cindy loves the OregonShakespeare Festival in Ashland, OR.

This annual festival always promises incredible performances of not only works by Shakespeare, but more contemporary productions as well. Each season includes 11 different plays which run from June through mid-October. Ashland, where the festival is held is the ideal place to have such a wonderful variety of theater happening. This is a quintessentially charming town, with a vibrant downtown district full of galleries, shops and a wide range of culinary delights.

Cindy also loves the variety of recreational excursions to be experienced near Ashland. Extending beyond the town is the Rogue River Valley, one of Oregon’s wonders. Whether you are a nature lover, recreational buff, or both, this region is teeming with wildlife and wild adventures to experience. One of the best ways to get the full effect of the Rogue River is to raft down this mighty river of Southern Oregon. Even better is a guided rafting trip with delightfully comfortable lodges to stay in as you journey; or you can always camp beneath the stars.

We have taken these two vacation ideas which Cindy loves, and turned them into one amazing journey through our Classy Ladies Getaways (& Couples Too!) travel program. While space lasts, you can join the Caravan to Ashland Adventure, coming up August 24th- August 30thh.
For a fun way to travel, this small group will caravan to Ashland, carpool style. A stop for lunch, wine tasting and tour of King’s Estate Winery in Eugene gets the journey started. Once you arrive in Ashland, there will be plenty of time for you to do as you please. Before you depart we will help you plan any specific activities you would like to enjoy.

The planned itinerary for the Caravan to Ashland Adventure has been organized so you can enjoy both the festival and the river raft journey, or just the festival portion of the trip, the choice is yours. Outlined below are the details including the cost of each.
